Live Action UFD
During the storyboarding/thumbnail phase of the production, it was suggested that we go through the animation with a live action interpretation. Originally designed to go through the entire animation. We only managed to create a live action clip till the beginning of scene 2.
I was Pavo in this clip, Melissa acted as Betty, and Thomas was the waiter.
This version of the story shows Pavo sitting in a bath, mentally preparing for the dinner. He goes to his room and put on different shirts and a tie. He touches his armpit as it is oddly wet. After this he goes to the restaurant. Greeted by the waiter he is taken to the table. Pavo then waits for Betty, looking at the door everytime a couple comes in. Slowly he becomes depressed. But suddenly Betty appears. Pavo is suddenly excited and jumps to Betty. Pavo is a mess, knocking the table, focefully giving some flowers to her and hugging her.
This exercise was to showcase a process to understand how the story in the script flows on camera.
In review of the footage I was given access to (supplied by Zara). This version made the beginning very long and also makes Pavo seem more socially awkward than in the final cut.
There was a few clips that are missing that I remember filming so this sequence would of been even longer.
I'm happy with the starting scene that we made for the final cut instead. Its quick and straight to the point. It also had a nice hook to get the audience interested.
